Church of our Savoir or Church on the Spilled Blood

The Church on the Spilled Blood (Church of Our Savoir) was built on the spot where Alexander II was assassinated in 1881. The main charm of this Church is the detailed mosaic work that covers about 8,000 sq.m. of both the inside and outside surfaces of the church. The Church on the Spilled Blood is an impressive example of  “Russian Revival Style” and is reminiscent of St. Basil’s in Moscow's Red Square.
